About Dainty

I’m Sofia

I received my first tattoo at 18 with my mom. I didn’t feel comfortable going without her. I know I’m not alone in this. Many marginalized folks don’t feel comfortable getting a tattoo alone. I’ve always felt that there needed to be a nurturing space to receive tattoos. That’s why I created Dainty.

I consider myself a life long student of the creative and healing arts. I have BFA in art and a master’s in media arts. I have certificates in yoga teacher training, buti yoga, herbal medicine, reiki I & II, reiki master, and fine line tattooing. I continue to deepen my learning in all things wellness.

I live in Madison Heights, Michigan with my wife Tara and our foster-fail pup, Lacy. I’m a cancer sun, cancer rising and capricorn moon.

our philosophy

Dainty is 1000% about you. We want you to feel at ease. We want you to feel supported. We want you to feel seen and heard.
For us, the artist is the facilitator of your tattoo experience.

We are an apology free zone.
You never need to apologize if you want your tattoo redrawn or placed in another spot. We want to get it right and we want you to be nothing less than stoked about your tattoo.

Your comfort is number one.
Tattooing can be a challenging experience. We have props on hand to support your body and to calm the nervous system.

Lease-to-own a tattoo.
Are you going back and forth about a tattoo?
All good! That's why we have temporary ink our studio. Try out your design in a lease-to-own capacity before you fully commit.

We are committed to low-waste.

We know that tattoo studios create a ton of waste. That's why we procure environmentally friendly alternatives. We use recycled / biodegradable tools (razors, ink cups, wraps), we only use vegan ink, and we source cruelty-free products.
